So part of what I do is work with people on tech issues.  One of the biggest issues I see is when people want to set up outlook rules and manage mail they go crazy with rules and folders.  Best practice is to keep your outlook folders as flat as possible.  Trust me you don’t need hundreds of folders and rules managing mail.  Most of the time I see people create so many rules that they end up reporting they are not getting email.  When we look we see that the mail they are expecting is actually being moved by one of their hundreds of rules.  If you aren’t familiar with rules see the link the below for some basic instruction and best practice.

Started I watch update 5.1.2 at 3:45 PM CST however at 4:23 noted the batter was below 50% so now waiting for it to be charged enough to continue.  Noted as soon as the watch hit 50% went to verifying.  Once the watch started the update it was actually 4:44.  Updated finaly completed at 5 PM CST.

  • New ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4 (US and US territories only)
  • Allows you to take an electrocardiogram similar to a single-lead electrocardiogram

  • Saves ECG waveform, classification and any noted symptoms in a PDF on the Health app on iPhone to share with your doctor
  • Adds the ability to receive an alert if an irregular heart rhythm that appears to be atrial fibrillation is detected (US and US territories only)
  • Enables direct access to supported movie tickets, coupons, and rewards cards in Wallet when tapped to a contactless reader
  • Receive notifications and animated celebrations when you achieve daily maximum points in a day during an Activity competition
  • New Infograph complications for Mail, Maps, Messages, Find My Friends, Home, News, Phone, Remote
  • Manage your availability for Walkie-Talkie from Control Center

So started Iphone 12.1.2 at 3:30 PM CST today.  Did standard over the air update.  After what looked like several reboots and 12 minutes looks like it updated successful.  wasnt much to this update according to support.apple.com

iOS 12.1.2 includes bug fixes for your iPhone. This update:

  • Fixes bugs with eSIM activation for iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max
  • Addresses an issue that could affect cellular connectivity in Turkey for iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max

Movie Reviews

Netflix WaterShip Down

This caught my eye the other day on Netflix it is more of a mini series than movie however.  I can remember reading this book back when I was about fourteen which was many years ago.  It also caught the eye of my nine-year old daughter as it of course had animated rabbits.  To be honest, I couldn’t remember much about the book just that it was large.  I was a little concerned that it may be a little much for her.  However, after watching it I feel it was well produced and would recommend this for anybody curious about it.

Bird Box

Ok so I decided to check this movie out based on all the hype about different blindfold challenges going around social media.  Didn’t know what to expect and had my doubts but was surprised it kept me watching.  Kinda got tired of the jumping back and forth time line. For a horror/thriller movie would recommend this one.

Dumplin’

So on the recommendation of a relative my 9 year old daughter and I recently watched Dumplin’ on Netflix.  Cute movie about an overweight girl who enters a beauty pageant. The rub is that her mom is an ex pageant winner and currently in charge.  Has some good laughs however does deliver a powerful message about acceptance.  I would recommend this movie.
